Particularly excited about this one.
This unexpected stop in my travels leads me into Canada, a place i've been dreaming of driving to for years.
Turns out, Alyssa has family in Canada. Family that really wanted to see her, and didn't mind an extra guest.
We only got to spend a few days here, but, I am so thankful we did. This entire experience has been so beautiful, and Alyssa's family left me feeling inspired to live out my dreams and continue following my heart.
Our first night, we tagged along to a hockey team's get-together for fireside chats, phenomenal wine, and even better food. It was a fun way to get to know Alyssa's family, and get aquainted to the typical weeknight for families in Calgary (hint, its hockey-filled). Post-party, the real party began. Alyssa and I headed to the city to snag a taste of the night-life in Canada. What happens in Calgary stays in Calgary... but, dancing on tables was involved.
The next day, Alyssa and I split - she explored some of the city, while I rested and explored a nearby bookstore. In the afternoon, we met up with Aunt Sara & her best friend to grab happy-hour drinks & dinner. We spent hours hopping from beautiful cocktail bar to stunning cocktail bar, and exploring downtown Calgary while filling our space with conversations of life and tiny miracles. It was truly a beautiful, love-filled day.
I think this may have been the hardest goodbye for Alyssa and I thus far. It goes without saying, we did not want to leave. Hoping we make it back here again one day, together.
We really failed on the photos for this one, but, enjoy this video we snagged on our way out.
x,
arrivederci
